I promise that this is the first and last time that I’ll write about this person, but I feel like someone needs to be the voice of reason here, given the amount of coverage her content gets, and just how baselessly sensationalized it is…
Cierra Mistt, the viral “flight attendant” persona
There’s a woman who goes by the name Cierra Mistt on social media. She has 3+ million followers on TikTok, 500K+ followers on Instagram, etc. So she’s widely followed.
Essentially, her shtick is that she’s a “flight attendant,” and that she spills all the “sexy” insider secrets of the industry. So her social media videos go viral, because she claims to expose all of the details of what really goes on in the industry, from pilots and flight attendants joining the mile high club, to what really happens on layovers.
To my knowledge, she briefly worked for Republic Airways (a regional airline that operates flights on behalf of major carriers) in 2021 through 2022, and that was her only stint as a commercial flight attendant. She was reportedly fired based on her social media content.
Obviously I don’t know what her intent was, but it sure seems like she became a flight attendant almost with the intent of exploiting the side hustle of exposing the “sexy” side of it. That’s because that’s the extent of her content (except when she talks about how her husband cheated with their nanny, and stuff like that… which I guess is along the same lines).
One of her latest videos is her “confessing” that pilots and flight attendants have sex in the flight deck during the flight. For example, The New York Post covered this, and the idea is basically that in the United States, there always have to be two people in the flight deck, so when one pilot goes to use the bathroom or stretch their legs, a flight attendant enters the flight deck, and sometimes they have sex.
The claim is that pilots and flight attendants follow three strict rules when carrying this out:
- “Make sure you work with a crew that you can trust, also know your plan”
- “You pick a flight that you know has a route that’s normally a smooth ride”
- “Once you have those two things, the third one is super easy — have one pilot come out and one flight attendant go in”
This is just ridiculous, especially the part about “pick a flight that you know has a route that’s normally a smooth ride.” Lol. “Hey Joe, let’s join the mile high club, and coordinate schedules. What regional jet route is going to be smooth next month?”
I also love how the story refers to her as “an experienced air hostess.” Yes, super experienced! And “air hostess?” Is it 1970? Then again, I kind of feel like AI might just be writing these stories?
“While frequent flyers are sitting back and enjoying the ride, freaky wingmen are too. This, according an in-flight insider, who claims captains and cabin crew members secretly have sex in the sky.”
Her flight attendant secrets don’t reflect reality
This woman is a smart entrepreneur, and she’s clearly doing this all with a specific purpose:
- She knows the general public’s interest in the concept of the mile high club, plus the intrigue people have with “insider” airline secrets
- She has an OnlyFans, and all of her social media content is intended to drive people there; there seems to be quite a bit of hardcore content there, which has little to do with the airline industry
I commend people who make a living on OnlyFans, and I think there’s nothing wrong with it (as long as they’re doing it voluntarily, consider the full implications, etc.). So I don’t at all knock her for building this business.
That being said, because of this, you have to view her social media content as being intended to create scandal, rather than actually reflecting reality. Like, do flight attendants and pilots sometimes join the mile high club? Yes, but very, very rarely, based on my understanding, especially in the flight deck.
The problem is that this is then reported as if it’s totally commonplace, and that this is what a large percentage of flight attendants and pilots are doing.
Like, there are also some pilots who have been charged with murder, child abuse, etc. That doesn’t mean we somehow extrapolate from this that pilots are murderers and child abusers. Because like any profession, there are bad apples.
Fundamentally, the issue here isn’t the OnlyFans niche she has chosen to carve out, but instead, passing along her claims as if they’re somehow insider secrets that reflect reality. The airline industry has an incredible focus on safety, and when we report these claims as if they reflect reality in any sort of a consistent way, it undermines the faith that people have in the system.
Bottom line
One savvy entrepreneur has made a living and gained a big following by exposing airline secrets, based largely on her roughly one year stint as a regional jet flight attendant. She had sexual content from the very beginning, so it almost seems like she became a flight attendant specifically to exploit this angle.
From a business perspective, I of course can’t blame her, and I’m sure she’s making a lot more through her OnlyFans than she made as a flight attendant. At the same time, you have to take everything she claims with a grain of salt.
Don’t read much into her claims — sure, sometimes there’s sexual stuff that happens in the airline industry, but it’s far from the norm. That’s important to understand, given the increasing concern there is among the traveling public when it comes to aviation safety.
Again, I promise that’s my first and last post about her, so I’ll see myself out…
