From 1st June 2025, the KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card will cut its bonus earn rate from 3 mpd to 2.4 mpd on key spend categories like dining and online travel, while the annual SIA Group spend to unlock the bonus will increase to S$1,000.
UOB has announced upcoming changes to the KrisFlyer UOB credit card from 1st June 2025, including a 20% cut to the bonus earn rate for dining, online shopping, travel, and transport transactions to 2.4 mpd, alongside a 25% increase in the annual SIA Group spend required to unlock bonus earn rates, rising to S$1,000.
It’s not all bad news though – Pelago bookings made directly through the website will now earn 3 mpd with the KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card, ending the strange disparity where only Pelago bookings via Kris+ qualified for the higher rate, while direct spend earned just 1.2 mpd.
Card recap
First let’s recap how the KrisFlyer UOB credit card currently works.

For general spend you’ll earn:
- 1.2 mpd locally or overseas
For SIA Group transactions, like those with Singapore Airlines, Scoot or at the KrisShop, you’ll earn:
Finally for those who spend at least S$800 on SIA Group transactions in their card membership year, there’s a bonus rate on everyday spend categories like dining, online shopping, food delivery, transport and online travel spend, whereby you’ll earn:
- 3 mpd, comprising the basic 1.2 mpd earn rate plus a bonus component of 1.8 mpd awarded two months after the end of your card membership year
UOB calls the 1.8 mpd bonus element “Accelerated Miles” (yes, the irony of something that can take up to 14 months being portrayed as quick is not lost on us…).
Everyday bonus spend earn rate cut to 2.4 mpd
From 1st June 2025, UOB has confirmed that the additional miles (“Accelerated Miles”) earned on the following everyday spend categories will be reduced from 9 KrisFlyer miles for every S$5 spent (equivalent to 1.8 KrisFlyer miles per dollar) to 6 KrisFlyer miles for every S$5 spent (equivalent to 1.2 KrisFlyer miles per dollar).
- Dining
- Online shopping
- Online travel
- Transport
In addition to the card’s regular 1.2 mpd earn rate, that means these transactions will now accrue miles at 2.4 mpd, rather than the current 3 mpd.
Increased SIA Group spend for Accelerated Miles
For cardholders whose membership year is ending from November 2025 onwards, Accelerated Miles earning on these dining, online shopping, online travel and transport card transactions will trigger only with an increased minimum of S$1,000 on SIA Group spend charged to your card in your membership year, instead of the current S$800.
That means your required spend at Singapore Airlines, Scoot or the KrisShop during the membership year will be hiked by 25%.
Previously, during the COVID-19 period, the minimum SIA Group spend for this card was set at just S$300; this new threshold will be more than triple that.
Here’s a summary table to help you keep track of these changes.

SIA Group spend threshold for Accelerated Miles
Card Membership Year Ends |
Min. SIA Group spend for Accelerated Miles |
Apr 2021 Aug 2022 |
S$300 |
Sep 2022 Mar 2023 |
S$500 |
Apr 2023 Oct 2025 |
S$800 |
Nov 2025 (onwards) |
S$1,000 |
If you’re not sure when your card membership year ends, you can determine this by checking the expiry date on your card. For example, if your expiry month is 05/26 (May 2026), your membership year runs from 1st May to 30th April each year.
In that example, you’ll now need to hit S$1,000+ in SIA Group spend from 1st June 2025 to unlock your Accelerated Miles, since your current membership year is 1st May 2025 to 30th April 2026 (i.e. ending on or after November 2025).
That’s quite sneaky, since it’s not what you would have been expecting at the start of the membership year, and you may have already planned or made your SIA Group spending of S$800 accordingly. It now won’t be enough.
Direct Pelago transactions now earn 3 mpd
As mentioned earlier, one minor improvement as part of these changes is that spend with your KrisFlyer UOB credit card directly at the Pelago website from 1st June 2025 will earn 3 mpd instead of the current 1.2 mpd.

This resolves the strange situation that allowed cardholders to earn an unlimited 3 mpd for Pelago bookings made via the Kris+ app, but only 1.2 mpd when booking directly, despite Pelago (under its official name Encounters Pte. Ltd.) being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines.
Remember that both Pelago and Kris+ spend does not count for the accrual of Accelerated Miles, which remains only for Singapore Airlines, Scoot or KrisShop spend.
Other 3 mpd spend is unaffected
Just to clarify, this upcoming change for KrisFlyer UOB credit card holders does not affect the instant 3 mpd earning this card accrues year round on SIA Group spend (now including Pelago):
- Singapore Airlines
- Scoot
- KrisShop
- Pelago
Similarly, 1.2 mpd earning on all other (non-bonus) spend with this card will continue as normal.
Terms and conditions
For further details about this change, see the card’s updated terms and conditions document.
From 1st June 2025, the KrisFlyer UOB credit card is seeing a double-hit devaluation – a reduced bonus earn rate of 2.4 mpd (down from 3 mpd) on key everyday spend categories like dining and online travel, and a higher S$1,000 annual SIA Group spend requirement to unlock these rates in the first place.
Thankfully SIA Group transactions, in addition to Kris+ and direct Pelago spend, will still earn 3 mpd year-round with this card.
While Pelago bookings made directly through the website will now qualify for that immediate 3 mpd, this small win will do little to offset the broader erosion in value for many cardholders as a result of the 20% bonus rate cut on those key spend categories.
