Travelling around the UK and Ireland soon? Get outsized value from your Avios points when flying on regional hops with Loganair – Scotland’s Airline.
There’s a new Avios partner award option available, with Scotland’s (only?) airline, Loganair, officially adopting the popular loyalty currency for earning and redemptions – the eighth carrier to so do globally, joining the likes of British Airways, Finnair and Qatar Airways in the Avios ‘ecosystem’.
While the carrier might not be on the radar for most of our Asia-based readers, many of whom won’t have even heard of Loganair, it’s actually the UK’s largest regional airline. With an extensive – and often expensive – network across the UK and Ireland, it could offer great value Avios redemptions if you’re planning to travel to multiple locations on your next trip.
With redemptions set at a fixed 6,500 Avios per flight, this new option opens up great value opportunities across Loganair’s regional network – especially on routes that are typically expensive when booked with cash.
Who is Loganair?
Loganair is a regional airline based in Scotland, operating one of the UK’s most extensive domestic networks. Founded in 1962, today it serves over 40 destinations across the UK, Ireland, and some other parts of Europe, with a fleet of 36 turboprop and regional jet aircraft.
The carrier is perhaps known for operating unique and essential air services, including the world’s shortest commercial flight between Westray and Papa Westray in the Orkney Islands, which takes just under two minutes.
While the airline focuses on routes that connect remote communities, including Scotland’s Highlands and Islands, it also operates between larger cities including the likes of Manchester to Edinburgh and London Heathrow to the Isle of Man.

Singapore Airlines has an interline agreement with Loganair on selected routes to and from Manchester and London Heathrow, which connect with SIA services, but it’s not possible to redeem KrisFlyer miles on these flights.
Now that Avios redemptions are available, frequent flyers can use the loyalty currency of British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, and Qatar Airways to tap into Loganair’s extensive network – and with a fixed redemption rate of 6,500 Avios points per flight, there’s some great value to be had – especially on routes that can be costly when paid in cash.

Routes Loganair flies from UK airports also served by Singapore Airlines include:
- London Heathrow: Derry, Dundee, Isle of Man, Kirkwall, Sumburgh
- Manchester: Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverness, Isle of Man, Kirkwall, Newquay, Southampton, Sumburgh
How to link your accounts
As we’ve highlighted before when discussing Avios transfers between its different loyalty programmes, British Airways serves as the central ‘hub’ scheme.

To move Avios into Loganair’s new Loganair Loyalty programme, you’ll therefore first need a British Airways Club account (join here).

Naturally, you’ll also need to sign up for a Loganair Loyalty account, which you can do here.
To be clear, Loganair is not affiliated with British Airways or its parent company, IAG – just as Finnair isn’t. This is purely a loyalty partnership with IAG’s Avios programme.
Ensure that your name spelling and structure (first name / surname) is identical for both accounts, otherwise you won’t be able to link them.
To link your British Airways and Loganair accounts, you’ll have to visit the Avios.com Move & Combine page here.

Click on the Loganair transfer link, which will then prompt you to first link your British Airways and Loganair accounts.

Once you’ve gone through all the security confirmations, your accounts will be successfully linked, and you can then make transfers between BA Avios and Loganair Avios, if you wish to (it is not compulsory to make a transfer at this stage).

If you transfer Avios to Loganair and then have a change of heart – don’t worry. You can transfer them back to BA any time you like.
As with other Avios partners, transfers are free, instant, and fully reversible 24/7.
In order to transfer Avios you may have in other accounts, like Qatar Airways Privilege Club or Finnair Plus, just move them to BA and then to Loganair from there. Again, you can simply reverse this process any time, if you change your mind.
How to search and book Loganair flights using Avios
Once you have a Loganair Loyalty account, simply log in and you can then search and book flights using Avios points from the menu on the left side of the homepage.
Alternatively, you can do a regular search via the main homepage, with the ‘Spend Avios’ checkbox ticked.

If you want to explore the Orkney islands after flying in to London Heathrow from Singapore, this one-way award to Kirkwall for 6,500 Avios is saving you GBP 218 (~S$378).

That gives you an incredible value per Avios point of 5.8 Singapore cents – almost unheard of for Economy Class travel.
Loganair’s surcharges are minimal and UK Air Passenger Duty (APD) – a significant factor on long-haul flights – is thankfully capped at a reasonable GBP 7 (GBP 8 from April 2026) for domestic services.
Things to know
Here are some key things to note when you redeem Avios points on Loganair:
- Award tickets on Loganair are non-refundable
- Award tickets include 15kg checked baggage and 6kg hand baggage allowance, a free snack and a free drink
- Seat selection and additional baggage is chargeable
- Some Loganair routes are partly funded by Government subsidies, and so cannot be redeemed using Avios points (e.g. Glasgow to Barra, Westray to Papa Westray)
- Award itinerary changes (route or date) come with a fee of between GBP 30 and GBP 50 per single journey per passenger
Earning Avios in Singapore
You can transfer credit card points into two Avios frequent flyer programmes from the following banks in Singapore, then transfer them into Loganair Loyalty via British Airways as you wish.
Singapore Bank to Avios transfer partners
= Good transfer ratio
= Lousy transfer ratio
Do note that HSBC transfers to Qatar Privilege Club at a poorer rate than it does to other programmes, while the same issue affects OCBC transfers to British Airways Executive Club Avios. Avoid these options.
It’s also possible to buy Avios points relatively cheaply throughout the year, from as little as 1.5 Singapore cents each, with recent deals from Finnair Plus and Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

Loganair’s adoption of Avios as its loyalty currency opens up excellent redemption opportunities for frequent flyers, especially on its more expensive regional routes across the UK and Ireland.
With a fixed 6,500 Avios points required per flight and minimal taxes, this could be a great way to redeem points you have in programmes like British Airways or Qatar Airways – especially if you’re planning to explore multiple destinations on a trip to the UK.
While Loganair may not be well-known in Asia, its extensive network and unique routes make it a valuable redemption option for those looking to explore beyond the major cities, or even to hop between some more common locations in the UK, like Manchester and Edinburgh.
