Singapore Airlines is launching an upsized Spontaneous Escapes flash sale on 15-17 August 2025, with big discounts expected for September travel – potentially up to 60% off KrisFlyer awards – in celebration of SG60.
Last month, Singapore Airlines launched a rare 40% discount for its Spontaneous Escapes awards promotion for travel in April 2025, an additional 10% compared to the usual monthly 30% discount offer, in celebration of reaching 10 million KrisFlyer members globally.
Although that deal has now ended, the airline is already lining up another upsized edition of KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes later in the year, in the form of a limited-time 60-hour flash sale offering improved discounts on award tickets for travel in September 2025.
While there will still be regular monthly Spontaneous Escapes deals – probably at the usual 30% discount – for travel in May, June, July and August, this upcoming promotion later in the year will be one to watch out for if you’re planning travel in September.
60-hour upsized Spontaneous Escapes for September 2025
As most of our readers know, Spontaneous Escapes is KrisFlyer’s monthly award redemption discount, offering 30% off the usual Saver miles rate for a two-week period, for those who can make firm travel plans the following month.
This upsized Spontaneous Escapes deal will go live for 60 hours only, between 12pm on 15th August 2025 and 11.59pm on 17th August 2025.
It will cover eligible flights operated by Singapore Airlines between 1st September and 30th September 2025, with Spontaneous Escapes usually including deals in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class cabins.

Although Singapore Airlines has not disclosed the exact discount levels for this offer yet, the deal is part of the airline’s SG60 celebrations, so a 60% reduction in KrisFlyer miles required for these award tickets would be fitting for the occasion.
That would obviously eclipse the usual 30% off offered under regular Spontaneous Escapes promotions and even beat the recent 40% discount seen for April 2025 travel, which was available for booking between 14th and 31st March.
SIA has offered a few other boosted Spontaneous Escapes discounts in the past, too.
Back in late 2019, it offered 51% off selected KrisFlyer redemptions in celebration of the programme’s 21st birthday.
In February 2019 an even better deal was offered in many cases, with Business Class awards available at Saver Economy rates for travel in March that year – a discount of 45% to 61%, depending on the redemption zone. That month, Economy Class awards were half price (50% off).
Given this precedent – and the milestone SG60 celebration – a headline 60% off award rates doesn’t seem too far-fetched – which would be a fantastic deal for those with September travel in mind.

Bonus miles on Scoot
Scoot is also participating in this limited-time campaign, offering KrisFlyer members booking cash fares during the same 60-hour window in mid-August 60% more bonus miles, giving low-cost flyers a rare mileage boost and another reason to consider booking during this period.

That’s a higher level than we saw recently as part of the 10 million member celebration, where new Scoot bookings attracted a 50% bonus miles accrual rate, though this time round sadly there is expected to be no bonus miles accrual deal for SIA cash fares.
More details will be released in August 2025.
