UOB Visa Infinite Metal card axing unlimited lounge access from June 2026
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

From 1st June 2026, the UOB Visa Infinite Metal card will remove unlimited lounge access, replacing it with a 12 visit per year allowance.

From 1st June 2026, the UOB Visa Infinite card will be removing its unlimited airport lounge access benefit, replacing it with a 12 visit per card membership year allowance, in a move that closely follows Citi’s similar change for Prestige cardholders, which takes effect on 1st July this year.

This change is obviously bad news for many UOB Visa Infinite cardholders who rely on the card’s unlimited lounge access when flying in non-eligible cabins, with low-cost carriers, or on airlines where they hold no status.

The good news is there’s plenty of notice for this change – it only takes effect around a year from now.

Lounge access capped at 12 visits

For many UOB VI Metal cardholders, a significant perk of the card has been unlimited DragonPass lounge access (see the full list here) for both the primary cardholder and one guest, a benefit rarely matched among Singapore credit cards.

Unfortunately, that perk is being heavily cut back.

From 1st June 2026, UOB VI Metal cardholders will be limited to just 12 complimentary visits per calendar year, shared between themselves and their guests.

“Effective 1 June 2026, the airport lounge access benefit for UOB Visa Infinite Metal Card will be revised. Cardmembers will receive 12 complimentary lounge passes per 12-month membership period, replacing the current unlimited access.”

This means a solo traveller can make 12 lounge visits per year, but if you always bring a guest, you’ll effectively only get six visits in total.

From June 2026, Citi Prestige cardholders will no longer have unlimited access to DragonPass lounges including the Marhaba Lounge at Changi T1.

Additional visits beyond the 12 annual allowance will be chargeable at US$28 (~S$36) per lounge visit, or the latest price as determined by DragonPass, which varies from time to time.

All existing UOB VI Metal cardholders will continue to benefit from unlimited DragonPass lounge access until 31st May 2026 – nearly a year from now. On 1st June 2026, 12 complimentary lounge passes will be automatically credited and reflected in your Airport Companion App.

If you don’t use all 12 of your complimentary lounge visits within your card membership year, they will sadly not roll over into the following year – you’ll just get a top-up to 12 visits again loaded for your subsequent membership year.

A benefit for groups or families?

There is a small upside for families or groups under UOB’s new lounge visit system.

Right now, the unlimited DragonPass benefit with UOB VI metal only allows the cardholder plus one guest per visit. Any additional guests are charged US$28 (~S$36) each.

From 1st June 2026, however, you should be able to use all 12 of your complimentary lounge visits in any combination you like – even all at once, since UOB has not mentioned removal of the one-guest privilege.

For example, a family of four could access an airport lounge together three times a year, using up all 12 visit entitlements (4 people x 3 visits), without paying anything. That kind of group access isn’t possible under the current one-guest-per-visit rule, without paying additional fees.

No changes to miles earn rates

There are currently no announced changes to the UOB Metal card’s miles other benefits, including miles earn rates:

  • 1.4 mpd on local spend
  • 2.4 mpd on overseas spend

These rates are relatively average for general spend cards these days (even the entry-level BOC Elite Miles card is soon matching or exceeding them), but one benefit for UOB VI Metal cardholders is that there is no transfer free for conversions to the bank’s two main FFP partners – KrisFlyer and Asia Miles.

That perk also extends to UNI$ transfers made from any other UOB credit cards you may hold, including the PRVI Miles cards, for example.

Other benefits of the UOB VI metal card include:

  • 25,000 miles on membership renewal, or 40,000 miles with a spend of S$100,000+ in the previous year.
  • Pan Pacific DISCOVERY Platinum status.
  • UOB Travel Concierge Service.
  • Complimentary weekday green fees with 1 fee paying guest at Sentosa Golf Club.
  • 50% off weekday green fees at 50 participating golf clubs across Southeast Asia.

Do note that this card currently has a generous sign-up bonus on offer, with up to 80,000 miles at a cost of only 0.82 cents each for new-to-bank cardholders, between now and 30th June 2025.

Remember you’ll still get close to a year of unlimited DragonPass lounge visits if you sign up now – so it remains a worthy consideration for both miles and lounge perks.

Credit cards that still offer unlimited lounge access

Luckily the UOB VI Metal is not the only card on the market in Singapore that offers unlimited lounge access. There are still seven cards that boast this perk, even when this one sadly no longer does from June 2026 onwards.

For more details, see our full guide here, which remember still reflects the current deal for both the Citi Prestige card through to 30th June 2025 and the UOB VI Metal card through to 31st May 2026.

The UOB Visa Infinite Metal card is capping airport lounge access at 12 visits per membership year from June 2026, a move that follows the Citi Prestige card’s similar changes and one that signals a broader trend towards more restrictive lounge benefits for 120k per year income cards in Singapore.

While the year-long announcement period provides plenty of notice – and kudos to UOB for that – cardholders who are frequent travellers will of course be affected by this change eventually.

Fortunately, several alternatives with unlimited lounge access remain available, including the AMEX Platinum Charge, DBS Insignia, and UOB Reserve cards.

Existing cardholders will now have to decide whether the card’s other benefits justify keeping it beyond May 2026, or whether it’s time to explore alternatives for better lounge access benefits.
